AUSTRALIAN SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS

St. George’s Grenada, Thursday 21st February, 2013, MOEPRU – Grenadian nationals are being encouraged to apply for the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID), Australia Awards Scholarships for studies at the Masters and PhD levels in Australia commencing January 2014.

Additionally, Caribbean nationals applying for the Australia Award are also eligible to be selected to participate in the Australia Awards leadership Program.

Applicants are required to be a citizen of the respective scholarship eligible country, be residing in a country other than Australia and applying for the scholarship from outside Australia, be able to satisfy the admission requirements of the institution at which the Scholarship is to be undertaken; meet the English language requirements; be able to satisfy Australian Government requirements for study entry.

Other requirements include applicants not being either married or engaged to be married to de facto of a person who holds or who is eligible to hold Australian or New Zealand citizenship or permanent residence status, at any stage of the application, selection and mobilization processes and while on scholarship in Australia; not be military personnel and not have held a scholarship to study outside their home country in the 24 months preceding the application.   The 24 months must be calculated from the date of arrival back in home country to the closing date for receipt of Australian Scholarship applications.

Applicants must visit the following websites to search for an appropriate course at an Australian tertiary institution and for the most accredited university given their chosen area of study. Awards include mobilization Allowance, establishment Allowance, full tuition, introductory Academic Programme, contribution to living expenses, overseas Student Health Cover, Study Enrichment Allowance, Leadership Development Programme and return home travel.

All applications are to be filled out via the Online Australian Scholarships Information System (OASIS) at http://oasis.ausaid.gov.au. Hardcopy of application forms can be obtained from caribbeanscholarships@ausaid.gov.au and submitted to the Human Resource Development Division, Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development no later than Thursday 25th April, 2013.
