Daniel 1, 2 and 3

I am looking into the study of the behavior of the King of Babylon. Looking at the whole chapter of Daniel 1 you can clearly get the picture that Daniel and his friends  were given a special 3 year scholarship. Daniel 1:17.

Now read what follows: It sound like their final exams were actually handed out by the Top most ruler of the day - the Kind himself tested did the questioning - he did not leave the work for his regular Examination unit or professors. He went in and talk to them.
See the verses 18 to 20 below:

18 At the end of the time set by the king to bring them into his service, the chief official presented them to Nebuchadnezzar. 19 The king talked with them, and he found none equal to Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah; so they entered the king’s service. 20 In every matter of wisdom and understanding about which the king questioned them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and enchanters in his whole kingdom.

Now notice the strange grade they got. It seems that they got A - but this was not the usual A grade - it was 10 times better than all the other scholars in the kingdom.
Lets us do a little math here with these incredible verses given in Daniel 1:18 to 20
They are given 3 year to study results = 10 time better than all the magicians and enchanters in the whole kingdom

I am assuming that these magicians were locals - who were born and lived in this land. So their whole lifetime of devotion to their own literature - performance was not that great.
