JAPAN MEXT SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME
                                                                                          
The Government of Japan in collaboration with the Government of Grenada is now inviting applications for the Japanese Government Scholarship from citizens of Grenada who wish to  Undergraduate studies or Research at Japanese universities under the (Monbukagakusho: MEXT) Scholarship Programme commencing in 2014.

These scholarships are as follows:

1.      Research student (Masters Research, Postgraduate Research, PhD)
·         From April 2014 to March 2016 (two years, including six months of Japanese language instruction)
·         From October 2014 to March 2014 (one year and six months, including six months of Japanese language instruction)

1.      Undergraduate Student
·         From April 2014 to March 2021 for those Majoring in Medicine and related fields including Dentistry, Veterinary Medicine,  and a six-year course in Pharmacology.
·         From April 2014 to March 2019 for those Majoring in all other fields of study

FIELDS OF STUDY

Those who wish to study in Japan as an undergraduate student must choose a field of major from the following areas:
·         Social Sciences and Humanities
Social Sciences and Humanities-A: Laws, Politics, Pedagogy, Sociology, Literature, History, Japanese language, Social Sciences and Humanities-B: Economics, and Business Administration.
·         Natural Sciences
Ø  Natural Science (A)- Science (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry), Electric and Electronic Studies (Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Information Engineering), Mechanical Studies (Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture), Civil Engineering and Architecture (Civil Engineering, Architecture, Environmental Engineering), Chemical Studies (Applied Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Chemistry, Textile Engineering), and other fields (Metallurgical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Maritime Engineering, Biotechnology).

Ø  Natural Science (B) : Agricultural studies (Agriculture, Agricultural Chemistry, Agricultural Engineering, Animal Science, Veterinary Medicine, Forestry, Food Science, Fisheries), Hygienic studies (Pharmacy, Hygienic, Nursing),  and Science (Biology).

Research Students

·         FIELDS OF STUDY
Applicant should apply for the field of study he/she studied at the previous university or any related field. Applicant must choose a field on which he/she can receive education and perform research at the University of his/her choice.

Eligibility

For Undergraduate Studies:
·         Applicants must have been born between April 2 ,1992 and April 1, 1997
·         Applicants must be a citizen of Grenada
·         Applicants must have completed Secondary School
·         Applicants must be willing to learn the Japanese language
·         Applicants must be in good health

For Research Students:

·         Applicant must be 34 years and under
·         Applicant must be a citizen of Grenada
·         Applicant must have a Masters degree in the related field of research

Value of Awards:

·         Full tuition
·         Return airfare
·         Monthly stipend

Completed Applications should include: 



·         Three (3) copies of application form. ( 2 originals, 1 photocopy)
·         Two (2) copies of Attachment Application Form ( 1 original, 1 photocopy)
·         Four (4) passport size photographs
·         Two (2) copies of Academic Transcript (1 original, 1 photocopy)
·         Two (2) copies of recommendation from principal or advisor of the last school attended. (1 original, 1 photocopy)
·         Two (2) certified copies of graduation certificate or expected graduation certificate of last school.
·         Two (2) copies of certificate of enrolment(for applicant currently enrolled in a university)
·         Two (2) copies of Medical certificate. (1 original, 1 photocopy)
