Joachim (Sonny) Mark is the historian. At the time I video taped him at his home in Brooklyn, he was very sick with cancer; he died the following summer. Sonny was a prolific writer and orator. He was a Civil Engineer but he enjoyed writing and talking about history, politics and medicine. He had an incredible memory and could recall dates and events easily as one would expect from someone with a photographic memory. As is apparent in the video, Sonny was also a teacher, a scholar and a community leader. He was also a relative and close family friend.
