Maybe the world was sitting hoping that the energy sector will learn abit from the technology sector, specifically from the distribution and transmission of the Internet. After all you can assume that they are basically the same, based on the fundamentals you can argue that  electricity is the movement of electrons while internet is the movement of photons. Yes, I know I sound like a crazy man to say that but look at it, a piece of fiber basically carry light from one place to another. From the far east to the West and Vice versa. So there are some bits of similarity between the age old "Electricity" and the  newer " Internet".

However lets look at these things:

The electrical is old technology where as Internet is newer technology. However we can look at these from the light of maturity.

Can we say that electricity as a technology is well matured as compared to Internet technologies.

At this point we can note some historical events in both field from the discovery of electricity proposed through the flying of the kite story to the electric motor, etc. We look on the side of the Internet and the history seem to be quite different and more recent. However some may just say Internet was as old as radio waves.

So why do you care about these two commodities.

Well they are the two biggest infrastructural commodities in today's economy. Without Electricity we cant have Internet, without Internet electricity is black and white.

So both are wonderful and useful technologies. We use them and we pay for them. 

However, can have you asked yourself, why these two technologies costing your household about 11% of your income ( except )  you are a big earner.

Maybe you are one of those person who thinks we are paying for a service that we ourselves cannot create and sustain. I agree... so when you ask yourself what electricity can learn from the Internet also ask what can the internet learn from electricity?

1. The world is waking up to directly generated energy. Today people are now generating their own electricity, thank to the sun, wind, moving water, heat in the earth, the waste from human and animals and dead plants....etc.

2. The world is waking up to the reality that we generate information but the Internet source are well controlled and unlike electricity we cannot generate our own Internet.
